Four fire engines and crews (two from Hyndburn, one from Great Harwood, one from Blackburn) were assigned to a fire in a shop on Barnes Street, Clayton-le-Moors. People living either side of the shop and in a flat above it were evacuated while firefighters tackled the fire, using a hosereel jet to extinguish it. There were no casualties. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
