Two fire engines and crews, from Preston and Penwortham, responded to a fire in a derelict building (the Old Orphanage) on Theatre St Preston. Firefighters pitched ladders and used a hosereel jet to extinguish a fire on the first floor, cause to be determined. There were no casualties.
