Two fire engines and crews from Skelmersdale were assigned to a fire in an upstairs room of an unoccupied terraced house. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire and a portable fan unit to extract the smoke. No-one was injured. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately. Police notified of the suspected arson.
