Three fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen attended a fire in a flat on Princes Street in Blackburn. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus rescued one casualty from the property, who was treated by ambulance staff, and used one hose reel and two ventilation units to extinguish the fire. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
