Four fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham and South Shore attended a fire in a second floor flat on Rodwell Walk in Blackpool where people were reported to be trapped. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire and ventilation units to clear the smoke from the property. One person jumped to safety from the window of the flat and was taken to hospital by paramedics along with another casualty who suffered the effects of smoke inhalation. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
