Three fire engines from Preston, Fulwood and Bamber Bridge attended a fire in a ground floor flat on Whitby Place in Preston. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus rescued one casualty from the property who was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from smoke inhalation and burns. One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire. An investigation into the cause is underway.
