Wednesday 26 August is International Dog Day!

Most people have a soft spot for dogs and here and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service we’re no different! Did you know that we have fire dogs that work with us alongside our firefighters?! Well we do…we actually have four!

Our dog handlers Jon and Lindsay are trained firefighters and work alongside their dogs for search and rescue missions and fire investigation. Lancashire Fire and Rescue have four fire dogs Sid, Dave, Rue and Louie who can be deployed to incidents in Lancashire, to help other Fire and Rescue Services and even abroad!

To celebrate International Dog Day we’ve teamed up with Kong Company who have products for dogs and cats for learning and for play!
