We’re calling on the people of Lancashire to help us in a campaign to protect our beautiful countryside from wildfires.
On the 31 May we had to declare a major incident due to two separate wildfire incidents having an impact on our resources. Both incidents were thought to have been caused by BBQs and campfires.
In hot and dry conditions BBQs, campfires and cigarettes can quickly ignite and spread and damage miles and miles of our moorlands and forests leaving lots of devastation and firefighters working to extinguishing the flames.
We’re trying to put an end to disposable BBQs being used in our countryside’s, forests, parks and sand dunes.
We want Lancashire residents to record a short clip of themselves saying:
- why your local landscape is special/important to you and where you’re from
- saying “no disposable BBQs please”
please send this in to us via the email address firstname.lastname@example.org so we can put together a film.
Please note that by sending in your footage you agree to us using it in our marketing campaign.
