Five fire engines and one aerial ladder platform attended a large fire in a house on William Street, Brierfield at 11:00. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a jet and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
By 13:00, the fire was out but four fire engines and one aerial ladder platform remained at the scene to make sure the property was safe and to damp down.
The fire engines which attended the incident came from Nelson, Hyndburn, Burnley, Blackburn and Colne.
