Two fire engines from Chorley and Leyland attended a house fire on Juniper Wood Close in Chorley. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. The house suffered severe fire damage to the upstairs hall and contents and the entire property was severely smoke logged. All the occupants had left the building to call 999. The cause of the fire was most probably a fault in a small electrical appliance. Smoke detectors warned the occupiers of the fire emphasising the importance of having working smoke detectors installed in your home.
