Three fire engines from Preesall, Bispham and Blackpool attended a fire in the basement of a house on the Esplanade at Knott End. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire and clear the smoke. One casualty was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
