Two fire engines from Preston attended a fire involving the electrical intake in the hall of a house on Cromwell Road in Preston. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire and clear the smoke. Two casualties suffering the effects of smoke inhalation were treated by paramedics at the scene. Smoke alarms in the property alerted the occupiers to the fire.
