Two fire engines from Preston attended a house fire involving a cooker on Higher Walton Road in Walton-le-dale. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire and clear the smoke. Two casualties suffered smoke inhalation and one was taken to hospital by ambulance.
