Two fire engines from Fulwood and Longridge were mobilised to a domestic building on Derby Road in Longridge.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish a fire in the kitchen caused by a kettle.
Crews were on scene for approximately one hour and 30 minutes.
