Three fire engines from Skelmersdale and Wigan fire stations were called to a fire involving a pan of food on a cooker on Whitburn, Skelmersdale at 01:06. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. One person received oxygen therapy from firefighters for smoke inhalation but they didn’t require hospital treatment.
