At 14:05 on 04 August, four fire engines from Lancaster, Fulwood, and Preesall attended an outbuilding fire on Island Lane, Winmarleigh. The incident involved a quantity of hay approximately 6x6m in size. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a thermal imaging camera, and one jet to extinguish the fire.
Update 19:15 – this incident has been reduced to one pump, with a crew continuing to dampen down fire-affected areas.
