At 07:38 on 13th September, two fire engines from Morecambe and Lancaster attended a peat fire off Kingfisher Drive, Heysham. The incident involved approximately 5x5m of peat bog. Firefighters used beaters, 12 aqua packs, 1 pick, and 2 shovels to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for around two hours.
