Three fire engines and crews, two from Bamber Bridge and one from Chorley, were assigned to a fire in a second-floor flat where it was reported someone may be trapped. The contents of a chip pan had burnt out without the fire spreading and no-one was injured. Firefighters used a portable fan unit to extract smoke from the premises.
