Three fire engines and crews, two from Preston and one from Bamber Bridge, were assigned to a fire at which it was feared someone may be trapped inside the building. In fact no-one was and there were no casualties. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hosereel jets to extinguish the fire and portable fan units to extract the smoke and heat. The cause of the fire is to be established.
