Initially reported that someone might be trapped by fire in their home, in fact no-one was when fire engines and crews arrived from Skelmersdale, Ormskirk and Kirkby (Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service). The fire was in a chimney and firefighters pitched ladders for access then used a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to ensure that no residual embers of soot remained burning on the chimney lining.
