Fire engines and crews from Rawtenstall, Nelson, Hyndburn (aerial ladder platform – ALP) and a boat crew from Preston went to the rescue of a woman who was stranded and injured down a river embankment. Firefighters pitched a ladder for access and lowered the ALP’s rescue cage to the location of the casualty, who was rescued and taken to hospital by ambulance.
