At 06:50 on 5th July, three fire engines from Leyland, Bamber Bridge, and Penwortham, attended a road traffic collision on Stanifield Lane, Farington, Leyland. Two casualties were trapped in their vehicles and were released by firefighters before being placed in the care of North West Ambulance Service personnel. Crews remained at the scene for one hour and fifteen minutes.
