At 06:13 on 13 December, two fire engines from Hyndburn and the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) from Chorley attended a road traffic collision on Chapel Street, Rishton. The incident involved one vehicle. Firefighters released one casualty from their vehicle using a Tirfor winch. The crews were in attendance for approximately fifty minutes.
