At 15:49 fire engines from Bamber Bridge and Preston attended a road traffic collision on the M6 northbound involving seventeen vehicles. There were no persons trapped however several casualties with minor injuries who were treated at the scene by North West Ambulance Service. Firefighters worked alongside Highways England and Lancashire Police to make the scene safe and were in attendance for ninety minutes.
