Two fire engines from Rawtenstall and Hyndburn responded to a road traffic collision on the A56 near Haslingden which involved two vehicles. Firefighters assisted by administering first aid to one casualty at the scene prior to the arrival of paramedics and were in attendance approximately 50 minutes. The casualty was left in the care of the ambulance crew at the scene.
