At 16:43 one fire engine from Chorley and the Rope Rescue crew from Bamber Bridge and the aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn attended an incident at Coppice Lane, Heapey. A casualty had fallen approximately eight feet down an embankmentand was rescued by firefighters using the ropes and a basket stretcher.The casualty was conveyed to hospital by NWAS. Firefighters were at the scene for an hour.
