At 15:48 hrs on 7th May 2020, firefighters from Blackburn attended a tree on fire on the canalside at Bolton Road, Blackburn. The crew used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for just over half an hour.
Update: Firefighters then rescued a bird found in the canal suffering burns from the fire. The crew used a debris bag and chimney rod to rescue the bird and took the animal to the vets.
