Two fire engines and crews from Bacup were assigned to an incident at which a car at the roadside had been set alight, the fire spreading to a second car next to it. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hosereel jets to extinguish the fire. There were no casualties. Police were notified of the suspected arson.
