Crews from Bamber Bridge, Leyland, Chorley and Tarleton were called to reports of a building fire, initially believed to be on Mill Street, Leyland. However, on arrival firefighters found the incident actually involved a car on a railway bridge on Carr Lane, Farrington. The fire was extinguished using a hose reel and breathing apparatus. The cause is thought to have been deliberate and so a joint investigation is now underway. Firefighters were in attendance approximately thirty minutes.
