At 04:10 one fire engine from Fulwood attended a fire on the M6 Southbound involving a car on fire. Firefighters used one breathing apparatus and two hose reel to extinguish the fire. Highways put a road block in place whilst the fire was extinguished and crews left the scene approx. fifty minutes later.
