At 16:00 on 18th September, three fire engines from Leyland, Bamber Bridge, and Preston attended a vehicle fire on the M6 Northbound motorway, between junctions 30 and 31. The incident involved a single vehicle on the hard shoulder of the roadway. Firefighters used one hose reel and one breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for approximately half an hour.
