At 16:36hrs, two fire crews from Blackburn and Hyndburn responded to a vehicle fire on the M65. The incident occurred between junction 6 and 7 on the westbound carriageway. The vehicle was well alight on the hard shoulder when firefighters arrived. The fire was brought under control using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel. Crews were in attendance around thirty five minutes.
