Fire crews from Wesham, Penwortham along with the water incident unit from Preston were called to reports of a fire involving a boat in a canal near to Station Road, Newton with Clifton. Firefighters found the boat well alight when they arrived and quickly set about extinguishing the fire using a hose reel. Firefighters were in attendance approximately two hours and forty five minutes. There were no casualties reported.
