At 21:50 on the 11th March 2023, six fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham, South Shore, Fleetwood, St Annes and Fulwood along with the aerial ladder platform from Morecambe attended a derelict building fire on Queens Promenade, Blackpool. Firefighters are currently wearing breathing apparatus and are using three hose reel, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews are currently in attendance.
Our drone team are also in attendance. Please do not fly drones nearby as you will obstruct emergency operations. Thank you.
Please avoid the area. Be aware the promenade is closed from Empress Drive to Gynn Roundabout. Diversions are in place on Warbreck Hill Road.
Update at 01:00 on 12/03/23: This incident has been reduced to three fire engines. Crews will remain in attendance throughout the night monitoring and extinguishing any hotspots. We would advise the public to continue avoiding the area. Thank you.
