Six fire engines are currently in attendance at a derelict building fire on Garstang Road, Broughton. Firefighters are currently tackling the fire using the Stinger, an Aerial Ladder platform and firefighters in breathing apparatus. There are road closures currently in place on the A6 near to the fire ground and this is likely to remain in place for some time whilst firefighters bring the fire under control. If possible please stay away from the area.

The incident was reduced down to three fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and a stinger in the early hours of the morning as firefighting activity continued, using; two monitors from the ALP and the Stinger and three main jets on the ground. Two Dewalt saws, one hooligan tool and a tool kit were also in use as firefighters attempted to dampen down remaining seats of fire and hotspots.
The A6 road closure was lifted at approximately 4am (19th July) and as of 6:25hrs there remains one fire engine at the scene to monitor any remaining hotspots this morning.
