Four fire engines and crews (two from Blackpool, one from South Shore, one from Bispham) responded to a report of fire in the basement of the premises. A pan had been left on a hob in a basement room and the contents of the pan had generated smoke but had burned out without the fire having spread beyond the pan and hob. There were no casualties. Firefighters used portable fans to extract the smoke.
