A fire on the first floor of a two-storey auto spares business prompted a response of two fire engines and crews from Preston, and one engine and crew from Bamber Bridge and Penwortham. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hosereel jets to extinguish the fire and a portable fan to extract the smoke from the building. There were no casualties. The cause of the fire is to be established.
