Five fire engines from St Annes, Bispham, Wesham, Blackpool and Lytham were called to grass fire off Clifton Drive, St Annes. Firefighters used seven jets and one hose reel to extinguish the fire which involved 1km square of grass near the beach. A nearby nursing home was evacuated as a precaution but no injuries were reported.
