At 19:19 on 22nd April, five fire engines from Burnley, Bacup, Nelson and Rawtenstall attended a moorland fire off Crown Point Road, Burnley. The incident involved approximately four hectares of grass that was alight when firefighters arrived. Crews used beaters to combat the fire before proceeding to dampen down the area. There were no injuries reported.
Update 20:50 – this incident has now been reduced to three pumps. Crews remain in attendance.
