At 18:59 on 04 August, two fire engines from Nelson attended the rescue of a person on Skipton New Road, Foulridge. The incident involved one casualty stuck in quicksand. Firefighters used a duckboard and a sand lance to rescue them. Crews were in attendance for half an hour.
