At 17:43, two fire engines from Nelson and Rawtenstall fire stations, as well as the boat and a supporting fire engine from Penwortham fire station, attended an incident after a casualty reportedly fell into a river in Rossendale. Firefighters used a triple extension ladder and lighting to rescue a casualty from the side of a river before assessing the individual. Paramedics were also in attendance. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately fifty minutes.
