Five fire engines from Preston, Penwortham, Nelson and Darwen and the water incident unit were called to reports of two people and a dog in the River Ribble near the Capitol Centre, Preston. Firefighters assisted two people and the dog out of the water who were later treated by North West Ambulance Service as a precaution. Crews were at the scene for 30 minutes.
