Supporting former members of LFRS through retirement
Have you retired and want to remain part of the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) family? The LFRS - Retired Members Association (RMA) is here to help you stay connected, informed, involved and supported through retirement.
The RMA is a community of former LFRS employees who meet regularly to maintain friendships, share updates, and celebrate the Service’s heritage. It provides a vital link for retired members to keep in touch with colleagues and stay informed about developments within LFRS and the broader fire service community, including services offered by the Fire Fighters Charity.
• Annual General Meetings (AGM) – including reports, elections, and discussions on charitable donations.
• Social events – such as buffet lunches and gatherings at historic venues.
• Charitable activities – supporting causes linked to the firefighting community.
• Engagement with members – the RMA has a private Facebook group where members can post local events and share their stories and pictures.
These events are a great way to reconnect with old friends and continue contributing to the Service’s wider community.
Membership is open to all retired members of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, both uniformed and support staff. Joining is simple:
Send an email to the Membership Secretary at lfrsrma25@gmail.com
Include your name, contact details, and confirm your interest in joining the RMA.
You’ll then receive details about how to join so that you can enjoy the benefits of membership.
• Stay informed about LFRS news and initiatives.
• Enjoy social events and networking opportunities.
• Keep up to date with the services available from the Fire Fighters Charity.
• Access guidance and support during your retirement.
• Maintain lifelong friendships and share experiences with those who understand the unique challenges and rewards of firefighting.
