Firefighters from Ormskirk and one crew from Formby (Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service) were called to assist at an incident involving a horse on Board Lane, Great Altcar. On arrival firefighters found a horse stick in a ditch. A vet and the horse’s owner were also in attendance. Firefighters were able to release the horse using strops and the farms equipment. They were in attendance approximately one hour. The horse was left in the care of a vet for precautionary checks.
