Firefighters and the drone team have been checking for hotspots, with no smoke or flame detected for over fifty hours.

This incident has been reduced to three fire engines and one high volume pump.
The drone team are currently heat mapping to identify hotspot areas and firefighters are continuing with three ground monitors to target those hotspots.
Crews are expected to be here in the run up to weekend damping down, with multi-agency meetings continuing today.

Four fire engines are now in attendance to dampen down hotspots and will continue with firefighting operations throughout the night and tomorrow.

This incident is still ongoing and we currently have seven fire engines in attendance along with special appliances.
Firefighters are using ground monitors and the Stinger to target hotspot areas where the fire has deep setted into the waste materials.
Road closures still remain on Dawson Lane, so please avoid the area if you can.
Crews are expected to be at the incident for a significant period of time and we would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding.

This incident has now been reduced to eight fire engines from Blackburn, Bamber Bridge, Tarleton, Lancaster, South Shore and Blackpool.
We also have in attendance seven special appliances – two Stingers from Blackburn and Skelmersdale, two high volume pumps from Burnley, the BA Unit from Preston, the foam pod from Leyland and the drone team.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are currently tackling sections of the fire.
There are six jets and four ground monitors in use to bring the fire under control.
Foam is being applied by hand jets on the larger sections of the fire.

Fifteen fire engines remain in attendance this afternoon and firefighters are continuing to extinguish the fire.
There is still a significant smoke plume and we recommend that people keep out of the smoke and keep windows and doors shut.

We are working closely with the Environment Agency and other local authorities.
We expect to be at the site for a number of days and Dawson Lane remains closed for the time being.
Fifteen fire engines from Bamber Bridge, Chorley, Leyland, Fulwood, Blackburn, Penwortham, the command support unit from Fulwood, the Hagglund and the water bowser were mobilised to an incident on Dawson Lane in Buckshaw Village, Chorley.
We are also being supported by four fire engines from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
On arrival, firefighters found a large amount of landfill waste well alight.
Crews are using jets to extinguish the fire and will remain on scene for some time.
