At 02:53 on 10th July, three fire engines from Preston and Penwortham attended a domestic building fire on Fair Oak Close, Preston. The incident involved the hallway of a property approximately 4x6m in size. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel, a positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Three casualties were rescued from a first storey window using a triple extension ladder. They were then assessed by Fire Service personnel before being placed in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics. Crews were in engaged for approximately forty-five minutes. An fire investigation is now underway.
