Three fire engines and crews, two from Burnley and one from Nelson, were assigned to a fire in a first floor room of a terraced house. A casualty had been rescued from the fire by a member of the public prior to the arrival of fire crews and she was attended to by ambulance paramedics. Firefighters used two hosereel jets to extinguish the fire, the cause of which is to be established.
