At 21:00 on 21 April 2026, three fire appliances from Ormskirk and Skelmersdale attended a fire involving an air fryer in the kitchen of a domestic property on Canon Way, Burscough. One person was treated for superficial burns by fire crews. Firefighters used one hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus and ventilation to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for just under two hours.
