At 19:39 on 26 April 2026, two fire engines from Bispham and Fleetwood, as well as the Urban Search and Rescue team from Chorley, attended an animal rescue in water on Victoria Road East, Thornton Cleveleys. Crews utilised swift water rescue technicians donning personal protective equipment and a spreader bar to assist with rescuing the horse. Crews were in attendance for approximately two hours and ten minutes.
