At 01:43 on the 21st January 2026, six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform attended a commercial building fire on Railway Street, Stacksteads, Bacup. Firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus and using three hose reel jets, two triple extension ladders and a ground mointor to extinguish the fire.
